MCDec/13 - eCut Just For You - HB Cards

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you've enjoyed your day... Me - I did some cleaning, laundry, had breakfast, then played some scrabble against the computer, fixed something I've wanted to fix for quite some time and finally got out of my funk and was in the mood to create something... Although I have been practicing my calligraphy, so can't say I wasn't doing something creative every day... I'm also happy with the progress I'm seeing with my pen manipulation BIG GRIN. Anyway I figured the best way to get out of my funk was to look through all my images that I saved for later... and maybe to do something with them with an electronic cutter.  I was inspired when I came across the gift box that was a laser stencil done from thin cardstock that I had picked up at least 10 years ago. I had scanned it eons ago, thinking to cut it eventually. I even seem to remember doing that also eons ago... But for now it feels like a fresh image. I used both the negative and the positive for these cards.

All stamps are from Quietfire Design.

I cut the gift box/ribbon from white 110# cardstock. Removed the outline image which I used for the green card, leaving the negative portion on my mat to use for the blue card.

For the green card,  I swiped Specturm Noir alcohol pens across the ribbon section in linear streaks, then colored the gift section with a dark green. I used a Krylon gold leafing pen to edge all the letters. Applied a piece of Sookwang tape to the back of the gift section and then sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter in "Sea Foam" & "Celadon", burnishing well. I found the letters disappeared, so outlined them with white ink using a pointed pen and Copic white opaque mixed with some water. Adhered the gift to the front of my cream toned side folded 4.5"w x 8.75"h card.
On the inside stamped the birthday sentiment using Versafine "Olympian Green" and touched with some "Black Onyx". I created a silhouette stamp image of the flourished frame (both stamps are from the "Happy Family Day" set), eCut with my electronic cutter from white cardstock, then stamped onto the cut piece with the black and clear embossed. Used my Spectrums to color here and there and adhered to inside of card..

For the blue card, I put a piece of Sookwang tape over the remaining piece of cardstock on my mat and carefully lifted everything up. Stuck a piece of patterned scrapbook paper on the back and then applied Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Cool Highlights" all over. Trimmed it down and adhered to my dark blue side folded 4.75"w x 8.25"h card leaving a scant border all around. I colored the glittered box area using Spectrum Noir alcohol ink pens and outlined the words with a darker shade. Stamped the "Bonne Fete" sentiment ("Francais" set) across the bottom using Versafine "Majestic Blue".

Those are certainly some pretty and festive birthday cards, Yogi! It sounds like you had a nice, normal, quiet day, and that's exactly what I'm looking forward to after all the extra activity during the holiday season. Enjoy the rest of 2013.
