The sky is the cut off piece of the previous sky card I uploaded a couple days ago - it was sitting on my desk and I figured I might as well use it... So I created another birch tree background to die cut.
I created the alcohol snowy background on a glossy type paper using and felt tool and inking the felt with a good sized dot each of "Denim", "Stream", "Sailboat Blue" and some blending solution, pouncing and twisting my felt tool to avoid repeat patterns. I then added a bit more blending solution and created a few streaks across the sky.
To create the snowy effect, applied a clean felt to my tool and added MINISCULE dots of blending solution (about 4) and gently pounced here and there. NOTE: the less blending solution on your felt, the smaller the snowflakes...)
To accent some of the snowflakes I applied a bit of blending solution on my craft sheet and used a fine tipped paint brush, picking up some of the solution and adding to the snowflake dots here and there.
The birch trees: Applied "Teakwood", "Pitch Black" alcohol ink and some blending solution to my felt applicator and pounced. Then die cut using Sizzix Thinlits "Birch Tree" die.
Adhered both elements to my side folded white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h)
Stamped the little bird (Inkadinkado "Winter Birds") using Distress ink "Fired Brick" and fussy cut around it, adhered to branch.
Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas..." 3pce set) using Versafine Black Onyx on white cardstock and clear embossed, then just cut a wavy line along the top and bottom.
On the inside, stamped the bird, again with Distress pads and clear embossed. Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "Christmas Is The Day..." 9pce set) with the black and clear embossed.
