Last 3 envelopes

Well the envelope exchange I host is coming to an end. These are the last 3 that I had to make. I'll miss sending and receiving these envies. Maybe I'll start another one at some point in the new year. I enjoyed most of it, with only a few things that didn't work out as well as I expected. Live and learn.

I'm just putting the link to the gallery, click here. They're easy to find since they're the first three
on that page. Enjoy.

Decorated Envelope Exchange for Oct

Two more envelopes for this exchange are done. We just got a new issue of Endangered species (birds and butterflies), so I had to use them. I'm happy with the results. Enjoy Click on either envelope to go to that web page for details.

Dec Env Exc for Sept

Two more envelopes are done for our Decorated Envelope Exchange. Only Oct & Nov left. Boy this year went by too fast. I used the Radiant Batik technique from Julia Andrus's Paper Transformed book but used Perfect Pearls with it and sprayed the colors onto the paper. I also used my new clear rubber stamp sets from Inkadinkado. Love these flourish stamps incorporating whichever theme, be it Autumn, Halloween, Xmas etc. Click on either image to see larger images and details. Enjoy.

Aug Decorated Envelopes

Another month's envelopes are done. I even tried out a new technique from the Paper Transformed book by Julie Andrus. I really like it so will make a few other backgrounds with it. I also recently got some of the Anne backgrounds from the postage stamps which I didn't get with my booklet stamps so created another Anne Envelope. I also finally gotto use some of my French/Quebec Indian postage stamps commemorating Chief Membertou.

And on another topic, I made a few more "Scrap" ATC's. While cleaning my desk from all the mini booklet necklaces I made, there was quite a bit of interesting scrap pieces. So I took a few minutes to use them up.

Last two envies for July are done.

I finished the other two envelopes for July. Yahoo!! Picked up a new stamp set from Darkroom Door "Full Bloom Vol 2". Very pretty set with orchid florets and a Dendrobium sprig and lovely quotes, so I wanted to make something with it. I'm happy with the results.

Then I was cruising some rubber stamp stuff and a spark ignited... the next envelope uses the concept I saw but instead of rubber stamping I used dry embossing. You've probably all seen these beautiful script type stamps with a large flower on top of the script background. Looks so beautiful. But since I don't have one of them, mainly because I find them very limiting, I created my version. And of course both envelopes also use Pan Pastels. Enjoy

One envelope done & my Yalpha mingle for July

My first of three envelopes done for July --- Ahead of time. Sheesh. I'm kinda in a foul mood. It's taking ages to copy and transfer my files to my desktop. I'm having to re copy because the CD's are for the pits or the XP on the desktop is for the pits. Maybe both. Who knows. But you don't want to be near me at the moment. And in between this waiting, I'm trying to create.

Even in this foul mood I'm happy with what I've been creating.

Also finished my mingle page for July and I chose the letter "R" for roses.

Decorated Envelope Exchange 208

Here are the other two envelopes I needed to make for June. I used Pan pastels for the backgrounds with touches of colored pencils. Love the new stamps that were just issued of Anne of Green Gables. I'm partial to that stamp having lived in PEI for several years. I also love the colors of the duck stamps that were issued a few years ago. I seem to be on this yellowish streak lately.

Anyway, enjoy.

Decorated Envelope Exchange

One envelope for June done, 2 more to go...

I'm really trying to stay even, or maybe get ahead. So finished one of the envelopes for this month's swap. I've wanted to use the Year of the Monkey International stamp for quite some time, but very rarely post internationally. Now was my chance. Enjoy.

Decorated Envelope Exchange 08

These are my envelopes for April for my Decorative Envelope Exchange 08 I'm hosting. I'm enjoying it immensly. We're all really creating such wonderful artwork.

I went a little bit on a tangent for Robert's. Tried out doing one of those Ornamental Versal letters for Nadine, and a vine type for Cheryl. I'm happy with the results, although the postage stamps might have been placed in a better area on Robert's. Too late now, they're stuck down...
April 14th: I've also just uploaded the Thanx ATC's I make for everyone.

Dec Env Exchange AnnieF & Heather's

I finally got down to working and finishing my envelopes for this month's exchange. The 2 new Zentangle ATC's are also uploaded (last 2 on the page). And I was playing with a couple new products. The Sakura Metallic Gel pens. The 10pack set are gorgeous pastel shades and move around wonderfully with water. The Sky Blue, Lime Green, Red & Aqua & Pink are my favorites. It has the gold and silver as well in this pack. The 5 pen pack are stronger shades and include a copper. Then I tried the new Pan Pastels. WOW!! Rub your finger over the pan and it feels soft & silky. Luscious colors too. I picked up a 5 pack tint colors as well as a yellow green tint. Will definitely be buying more colors.

Dec Env Exchange Limor & Ruth C's Envies

Since I'm going to be busy next weekend at a weekend art class, I thought I'd get this month's envelopes done. I'm on another roll. I'm happy with everything I've been creating this weekend. The fronts of a bunch of ATC's are done as well, just have to do the insides now.

The envies use mainly colored pencils with a bit of Twinkles H2o's and some glitter. Enjoy

Dec Env Exchange Laurie's Envie

Well there was a definite blimp in our Decorated Envelope Exchange. One of the people that had joined, and I was having the hardest time reaching, finally sending something by snail mail and still no answer. Then on Friday I got an e-mail (this is almost a month after I tried the snail mail approach) saying she was withdrawing her name. Sheesh!! All the mailing schedules were posted and an envelope by one of the particiapnts was already in the mail to this person. It's what I call really, really inconsiderate. Needless to say she's on my black list

Well so there I was, being loaded down with all kinds of other stuff and limited time because of working full weeks for Jan & Feb, and now I had this to sort out. It wasn't as if I could just remove her name. Everything had to get shifted so everyone still received and mailed 12 envelopes.

It's now sorted out, but I also had to make an envelope I wasn't expecting to make because that person was supposed to receive one from the person that bowed out. I didn't want to disappoint anyone. But I'm a problem solver and finished her envie. I like the results. She also gets one of my Zentangles ATC's made especially for her (last pic on my web site page). And surprise, surprise I have time left over...

A Couple Decorated Envelopes

As some of you already know I started a Decorated Envelope Exchange for 2008. The first ones to be mailed out at the end of December 2007 to arrive at their destination in January of 2008... I've just uploaded my first 2 on my website with a description of what I did. Enjoy.
