BVCG Envelope Exchange 2021

BVCG Envelope Exchange 2021. Since the recipient received her envelope I thought I'd post it BIG GIN

I recently saw a tangle on Zentangle and liked the way it looked  like a beveled piece of glass and thought of an ink bottle... The rest evolved...

MC June/15 - Triangle Quill Tangle - The Only True Gift - HB

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCJune15_TriangleQuillTangle_TheOnlyTrueGift_HB.htmlAt my last quilling session this past Wednesday, I was sitting there trying to decide what to make... then I started doodling something I had seen the day before on "A Little Lime" blog the Narwal tangle which is basically a bunch of "S'es". The next thing I new I was quilling coils for the doodle I had drawn... I then cut out the doodle and pasted my coils to the paper to hold everything together. When i got home I created another doodle, shading with pencil etc and created the off center diagonal card which incorporated another challenge... and so the story goes. I'm also using Designs by Ryn stamp on the inside (Sea Creatures #2) - love this set....

Anyway, you can see more details and descriptions, more views etc, by clicking on any card image. Enjoy

I'm using my own calligraphy (Blackletter style) and eCut design from it on the front, but on the inside I'm using calligraphy stamps from Quietfire Design. "The Only True Gift..." & "Happy Birthday Plain And Simple" 7pce set.

And it fits for these challenges:
Perfectly Rustics  #49  letters or symbols as focal.
Sassy Studio Designs #285 different fold

DT Mar/13 - Triangle Fold - Friends

My turn on the Quietifre Creations Blog today. I did a variation of the Triangle Fold Card I made a few days ago... Last time the card was made from one piece of cardstock, this time I made 3 squares and adhered them together. Either method works really well. The 2nd way, you can make larger cards BIG GRIN.

Anyway, you can see all the details and descriptions HERE or you can see them on my web page here.

I'm using a Quietfire Design calligraphic quote stamp. And then I did some monoline calligraphy around the edges.
Enjoy

MC Mar/13 - Zentangle Frame- Get Well

A good friend is having some health issues and I figured they could probably use a "pick me up" type card...

I started this card at the Zentangle gathering yesterday over at Paper Pastimes. We had a fabulous afternoon, lots of fun and information.

I used a Spellbinder's Die cut "Reverse Wonky Rectangle" for the frame outline done with a black Zig Writer. Then worked on the doodling with a pencil, then going over my lines with a micron pen. Shaded some areas with a 2B pencil and blending with a paper stump. The white card is 4.25"w x 5.5"h

Wrote the quote with the Micron pen, then colored some areas with Prisma colors. I like the way it turned out. I remember to even scan it before I put the lettering so I can print the card and put other quotes in there.

Anyway, just click on card image to see a larger version and enjoy.

And it fits for these challenges:

Bookmarks Bri

A few days ago I uploaded a Jumbo Tulip birthday card for my baby sister (not so baby...). She had sent me an email a few days before asking for another bookmark... She sent me a scan of the one she had, which she said she used 24/7 (she loves reading). She said she has a bunch of other bookmarks, but only used mine because I had made it for her, but also said it was falling apart.... She's such a nice sister. I forgot I had given her one. I had made it in 2004, so I think that's a really well used bookmark.

So I made her a few more... I was only going to make 1 or 2, but as you can see I got carried away - again.

The Zentangle one was the first one I made and uses Quietfire Design Nature QuoteMarks on the back. I new I was going to hot laminate it and didn't want to waste part of a laminating pouch, and that's when I started making the rest BIG GRIN. There aren't enough small sized quotes I could use, so created the backs with quotes from my database in an Excel program and then printed it out. So when she needs a lift, she can read the backs.

Zentangle: I used a Zig Writer for outlining and a Pentel pocket brush pen to color in the black areas.

These were the next ones I made, using a word that was in one of the quotes.
Poppy: Stamped (Local King Rubber "Poppy2) with Versafine Black Onyx and colored with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils, and a waterbrush. The sky was colored with Prisma colored pencils.

Sunflowers: (Flourishes "Gerbera Daisies") I didn't have a sunflower stamp, so used the daisy stamp and colored with the Derwent pencils in bright yellow to mimic a sunflower... Sky colored with the Prisma pencils.

Strawberries: I digitally printed that onto copy paper and used a Chart Pak pen to transfer the image to my cardstock bookmark then with the same Derwent and Prisma pencils. Stamped the birdhouse (Flourishes "Friendly Reminders").

Sabrina: And then I was in a mood to do a very personal bookmark for her. Drew in the letters of her name and then just drew out lines, Colored with the Derwent and did some doodling within the letters.

Stampede 2011

The entry deadline has passed and I'm finally able to upload my Stampede pieces I entered for this year's contest. What with some ATC's I did a while back and the piece on the left, you can see I was in a Zen - doodle mood, and I'm using one of my favorite styles - Funky Neuland... you all know how I love "funky".

The piece on the right is basically Roman caps proportions. I recently took a class taught by Renate Worthington - "More than Just Roman Caps" and got a new appreciation for these letter forms. This is a layered piece, with the pencil worked letters as a base (they're not traditional Romans) but really like their look.

Anyway to see more details and descriptions, just click on either piece and you'll be taken to that web page. Enjoy. Now I keep my fingers crossed. I'll know on July 10th if I won anything. BIG GRIN

ATCs June trade

I finally finished my ATCs for this month's trade. Am very happy with the results - and tell me about recycling BIG GRIN. The background is leftover decorated background paper I had from ages ago... Plus I'm using old book pages for the flourishes.

And I love doing Zentangles and was in the mood to make some for this trade.

Anyway click 0n either ATC to see more of that style. Enjoy

BVCG 30

I may seem like I'm not doing much since I haven't really uploaded a lot lately... but I am busy creating.

Finished my 2 Stampede pieces, they're matted and I need to buy a frame for them. I'll be uploading them around the 25th of the June.

I was also busy making my Vamp Stamp news submissions and now have finished this piece. it's for our Guild's 30th anniversary in June. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Done with Micron Pens and pencil shading. It's based on Neuland style lettering that I found on the net. Didn't know what a "3" looked like in Neuland. Who knows if that's really the way it's supposed to look, but I liked the "3" so went with it.

Last Journal

I finished my spreads in Anne A's journal and it's the last one I have to work in. This was a wonderful year and I enjoyed working in everyone's journals. Maybe we'll do it again one day...

I incorporated what I learned last weekend in Georgia's classes. I tried gilding on Stonehenge and that is not easy. Lesson learnt. But as the quote on that page says "I will not quit" I persevered and finally got it done. I'm happy with it all. I have to make a large envelope now for it, so have patience Anne. I'll probably stuff your October ATC's in the same envelope. Click on pic to see the other pages and descriptions etc.

Zentangles ATCs for July envies

My 3 thanx Zentangles are done. It's getting harder and harder to make them. We have 33 participants in this envelope exchange and there are 7 "M's", 5 "R's", 3 "L's", 3 "C's", 2 "B's". Those M's have to be breaking some statistical record... How many ways can you design an M that will work in a Zentangle.

Well we're past the half way mark, so I created a 2nd page to hold the next batch of Zentangles. The first page was getting a little full. (Big Grin).

Dec Env Exchange Limor & Ruth C's Envies

Since I'm going to be busy next weekend at a weekend art class, I thought I'd get this month's envelopes done. I'm on another roll. I'm happy with everything I've been creating this weekend. The fronts of a bunch of ATC's are done as well, just have to do the insides now.

The envies use mainly colored pencils with a bit of Twinkles H2o's and some glitter. Enjoy

Dec Env Exchange Laurie's Envie

Well there was a definite blimp in our Decorated Envelope Exchange. One of the people that had joined, and I was having the hardest time reaching, finally sending something by snail mail and still no answer. Then on Friday I got an e-mail (this is almost a month after I tried the snail mail approach) saying she was withdrawing her name. Sheesh!! All the mailing schedules were posted and an envelope by one of the particiapnts was already in the mail to this person. It's what I call really, really inconsiderate. Needless to say she's on my black list

Well so there I was, being loaded down with all kinds of other stuff and limited time because of working full weeks for Jan & Feb, and now I had this to sort out. It wasn't as if I could just remove her name. Everything had to get shifted so everyone still received and mailed 12 envelopes.

It's now sorted out, but I also had to make an envelope I wasn't expecting to make because that person was supposed to receive one from the person that bowed out. I didn't want to disappoint anyone. But I'm a problem solver and finished her envie. I like the results. She also gets one of my Zentangles ATC's made especially for her (last pic on my web site page). And surprise, surprise I have time left over...

A friend's Journal

One of my friends recently bought one of my hand bound books and asked if I would do a first page for her. She had bought the Memories coptic bound with sculpey cover book. This is what I did in it. I used the Hamada font (really like this font) that someone directed me to recently, with a Nikko G nib and Mona Lisa adhesive and Green Variegated Gold leaf to write out her name and journal word. I did a zentangle in one of my little black frames and added that to the page. I also made something extra for her, a Kersals word "enjoy". Will be giving it to her on Thursday. Love to see her reaction.

Yogi's Journal Round Robin 2008

Well I uploaded my Journal I'll be using for my Round Robin 2008 to my website with explanations and detail pics of some of the pages. We're 10 people, which I think is a perfect size and if everyone keeps to the schedule, we'll be finished by xmas of 2008. Keeping my fingers crossed. Every month I will be posting what I have done in someone else's journal. Enjoy the journey with me.
