BVCG Dec Lettering Challenge - Day 17 & 18

 

BVCG December Lettering Challenge day 17 & 18. 

I recently acquired the Emerald Creek Quietfire Design Modern Gilding Powders (6 colors) and really like them. They are very fine and great for detail work.

I wrote my letters with the bullet tip of a Zig Writer, then went over them one at a time with a Versamark pen and thermal embossed with the gilding powders.

 

 Inked the letters with my Parallel pen, then added Zig glue to each letter, one at a time and sprinkled with either Elizabeth Craft Designs glitter or Glitter Ritz glitter.

Sept/19 - Easel Roses - ECD Merry Christmas - God Gave Us Memory

Oct/19 - TopFold Best Wishes - Flourished Frame - Maybe Christmas

 As I mentioned before, I've been making a lot of stuff for cards both at my gals get togethers and while playing...and that's where they ended and in my "one day" pile of stuff. Well I sat down the other day and finished a whole pile of them.

Oct/19 - PoinsettiaDie Cut - Peace - The Magic Of Christmas

As I mentioned before, I've been making a lot of stuff for cards both at my gals get togethers and while playing...and that's where they ended and in my "one day" pile of stuff. Well I sat down the other day and finished a whole pile of them. This one uses one of my newer poinsettia dies.

Oct/19 - Easel Waterfall card Hello - In A Perfect World

 

This is an easel card and the waterfall is on the floor as a stopper. I recently came across the Lawn Fawn die set and video instructions. So easy... BIG GRIN

Sept/19 - Side Fold Poinsettia - ECD Dec 25 - What Is Christmas

 

I came across a gorgeously colored green poinsettia and had to imitate it done by Laura Jane using The Ton "Poinsettia Close Up" background stamp released in 2017. You can see her post HERE. Since I didn't have the stamp I hand drew a similar image. Love the linear way of coloring...

Sept/19 - Easel Deco Roses - ECD Thanks - For Everything

Saw an image of some Deco Roses which I really liked, so hand drew them and added a bunch more leaves and berries etc. Scanned and printed out the image on white cardstock in a couple different sizes (which will be cards at a later time...)

Shadow Layer for a die cut

There have been some misconceptions on how I create my shadow layer for "An A Way With Words" die cuts. So I thought I'd try to clarify how I do them.

You'll notice I have 3 die images. A: is the easiest to create a shadow layer. B: is a bit more tedious but at least has some open inner areas and C: takes more finesse... BUT all are doable.

The instructions use the die cut contour right side up which means at the end you'll need to erase your pencil lines. Sometimes I forget which way I do them but usually I work on the wrong side of the die cut contour so I don't have to erase my pencil lines. BIG GRIN

I tape down my die so it doesn't move, then slide my X-acto blade along the metal edge. Really easy if you have a very sharp blade. When I get to where there is tape, I'll hold my die and move the tape to a new location and continue cutting.

I'll use all the tools in my arsenal - like hole punches to get to some of the really small areas.

I hope this clarifies what I do. I hope to make a video of this technique in the near future.
