MC May/15 - Marcel Jalopy - Roadster - HB - May Your Day

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCMay15_MarcelJalopy_Roadster_HB_MayYourDay.html
It's my uncle's birthday in a few weeks, so figured I'd better get a card made... and since I just got the Roadster die from Frantic Stamper, thought I'd incorporate that too, and came across a pinterest pic of embossed metal colored with a "colored wax" product and decided to do something similar using metallic Rub-ons. It all came together nicely. I'm pleased with the results.

Anyway you can see all the details and descriptions and more views by clicking on any card image. Enjoy

I'm using sentiment and an altered quote (part of one and part of another - BIG GRIN) from Quietfire Design.

MC Feb/15 - Quill Shamrock - Slainte - Friend

We're back in to frigid temps and winter here in Calgary... I was getting really spoiled with the + temps recently... So now I needed something green. Shamrocks. ROFL. I know I'm a little ahead of myself. but that's normal for me. I also was in a mood to finally make one of those Greek borders... so mixing a few nationalities here.

I side folded the white card (5"w x 6.25"h).

Created the Greek border and then cut with my electronic cutter from white cardstock. Used Distress daubers and some regular acrylics with dauber tops in various greens. Dried, then applied Versamark all over and clear embossed.

Stamped the leaf sprig (Local King Rubber "Hummingbird") in the appropriate spot using Distress mini pads, "Mowed Lawn" all over then some "Forest Moss" here and there. Adhered the Greek border.

eCut the word "Slainte" and a shadow layer from white cardstock, colored with the daubers, dried, then streaked the shadow layer with Distress dauber "Picket Fence". The main word I applied Quickie glue and then sprinkled with Ritz glitter micro fine glitter "Sweet Basil". The shamrock part of the word I used a lighter green (unknown brand). Adhered the two layers together and then on to the card.

Adhered my quilled elements (shamrock, white flowers and the ladybug). Added mini white pearls.

On the inside stamped the sprig a couple times using the same colors as on front. Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

The quote and eCut word are from Quietfire Design

Click on any image to enlarge. Enjoy

And it fits for these challenges:
Die Cut Divas  Monthly Feb  Words/sentiments
Card Mania Challenge  #65  add some red

MC Dec/14 - Metal Lantern - Life is a Pure Flame - HB

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2014/MCDec14_MetalLantern_LifeIsAPureFlame_HB.htmlOne of my DT friends asked if I had ever cut metal with my Silhouette Cameo... I said no. So immediately set about trying it... and even though it cut quite well, it ruined my blade, so it is not something I will be trying again any time soon. Waaay too expensive..

And recently I bought some cork sheets (DCWV) and decided to use some. And then there is this Spellbinders die I used for the edging - bought at the beginning of 2012... So I have something new and something old BIG GRIN

The candles were colored with Prisma colored pencils and then glittered.

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2014/MCDec14_MetalLantern_LifeIsAPureFlame_HB.htmlAnyway, you can see all the details and descriptions etc by clicking on any card image. Enjoy

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2014/MCNov14_WovenSpine_BelieveInXmas.html

I love this woven (cut & fold) type spine. I came across it in my internet travels and after making it like I saw in portrait mode, created this easel type landscape mode card instead. Stay tuned for a jpg image to use as a cut file coming on November 10, 2014

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2014/MCNov14_WovenSpine_BelieveInXmas.htmlIf you don't have an electronic cutter, you can use the Cut & Fold template stencils instead, but it will give you a smaller spine and you will have to move your stencil to create the full length.

MC June/14 - Umbrella Rain - You Are Sunlight

Were having quite a bit of rain here in Calgary... chilly too... so I thought I'd finally make this umbrella card. I had designed the umbrella a few days ago, in between work and misc other things... so scanned it and cut with my electronic cutter. Swiped a Distress pad "Mustard Seed" all over while still on my mat, then with "Spiced Marmalade". Removed the outline portion leaving the negative pieces on my mat for safe keeping and stamping... applied Versamark all over and embossed with Black Embossing powder. Stamped the alphabet background stamp on the negative pieces using Smoky Grey.

Side folded my white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Stamped the rain drops (Designs by Ryn) repeatedly using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing. Adhered my umbrella outline, then adhered the drop out pieces.

Stamped the quote on clear vellum with the black and clear embossed. Die cut with Spellbinders circle die. Adhered to card with Glossy Accents. Then adhered the red rhinestone heart.

Calligraphy stamps by Quietfire Design.

MC June/14 - Ecstasy Crafts Folders - cards

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2014/MCJune14_EcstasyCrafts.htmlEcstasy Crafts is having a contest/challenge with a chance to win $100 worth of product if you use and upload one of their new embossing folders... So I ordered a couple - they are really nice. BIG GRIN.

And then one of my friends mentioned having problems with Gelatos or maybe not so much problems but not really knowing how to use them... so I figured I better brush up on that again. So both these cards use Gelatos  in the embossing folders, one on watercolor paper and the other on cardstock.

And I went to one of my quilling sessions yesterday and was productive, so used something I made there. And the filigree bow I created using my electronic cutter.

http://quietfirecreations.blogspot.ca/2014/03/slainte-make-wish-side-easel-card.htmlMy turn on the Quietfire Creations blog today. I'm in St Patrick's mode... Suzanne (Quietfire Design) created some great eCut files which are on the Silhouette OnLine store and I thought I'd use one of them "Slainte" - Love it. I've also included a diagram to make a side easel card that isn't square...

I also created the shamrock lattice background that I am giving away free to anyone who wants it. It's available as a jpg image as well as SCUT & Studio files for a Silhouette machine. If you don't have a Silhouette machine or one of these sotfware programs, you will need to be able to convert &/or upload into your software. It will be a ZIP file which will include both a portrait and landscape mode of the lattice for a rectangular card. You can send me an email (yogihg@yahoo.com) to get the file.
