Forever Chasing Emerald Dreams

I was cleaning up a pile of stuff on one of my wheel-y carts and came across a bunch of glittered pieces I created eons ago... this one is emerald glitter on black paper through a star stencil.
size: 5"sq
I cut strips of just under an inch wide since the piece wasn't the size I wanted and pasted them to create my new frame. Used the cut of corners as decorative elements. Wrote the words with a green ZIG Writer

Concentric Circles - I Don`t Believe

Just playing with my circle template... using various colors of Juice Up pens. Added some coordinating glitter in the colored circles.

Text written with a Zebra G nib and Sumi ink in a funky lettering style I just learned through OCSFC with Nina Tran (Shaded Base - Spencerian). This text was written on a slight slant but can be written upright as well.

Abstract Design - 75

Thought I'd create a piece of artwork to celebrate my 75th BD. Three quarter century... sounds ancient. I've never wanted to reach this far...

On Canson Mixed Media paper using a Zig Writer created the design. Painted with Gansai Tambi #902 red gold, Gem colors #831 & 850 (pink & green), Windsor Newton "Burnt Umber". Glitter Ritz accents Dark Gold & Warm Highlight. Cross Hatching with a brown Juice Up pen. Added a gold sticker gem in the center.

Celtic Key Pattern - B - Blue Bird

I had fun doing the "S" key frame which have since words added... you can see HERE or HERE for the basic frame with details

While I had it standing on my desk and looking at it I saw this funky "B" and I was off on a tangent... I can see me doing another alphabet series since I now have 2 letters done...

On Staples 110# cardstock drew out the key design. I cut out the "B" shape from some misc cardstock and just drew around it, twisting and turning where needed... I added various blue colored glitter on the long narrow triangle shapes. The gold borders are Gansai Tambi "Blue Gold" paint. The dark blue small inner triangles are done with blue Mattehop pen, the black lines are Zig Writer. Lettering with a Frixion blue pen and outlined with a Juice Up pen.

Scribbled Lives 2023 - Wk 5 - Bleach - Bleach Is Wicked

I used to do a lot with bleach but haven`t played with it in several years...On Stillman & Birn Nova Tria Mixed Media 150gsm paper. It has 3 tones (light grey, beige and black). All 3 colors work beautifully with bleach... I've tried a lot of various black papers with bleach and this is my ABSOLUTE favorite. It reacts wonderfully and has such a nice tone to it.

BVCG December Lettering Challenge day 17 & 18. 

I recently acquired the Emerald Creek Quietfire Design Modern Gilding Powders (6 colors) and really like them. They are very fine and great for detail work.

I wrote my letters with the bullet tip of a Zig Writer, then went over them one at a time with a Versamark pen and thermal embossed with the gilding powders.

 

 Inked the letters with my Parallel pen, then added Zig glue to each letter, one at a time and sprinkled with either Elizabeth Craft Designs glitter or Glitter Ritz glitter.

Had these eCut stamps lotus flowers on my desk and wanted to use the... and then one of the challenges called for dry embossing, so used the Elizabeth Craft Designs "Bark" embossing folder to mimic water along with Stitched Rectangles die set and Lower and Upper case Alphabet set . I think that turned out well. And then I wanted to use the koi fish from Designs By Ryn. and of course one thing led to another...

MC Apr/16 - Quill - Mannequin - ECD Hello - The Secret - HB My Friend

 I love the Lorelei mannequin, the only problem is I don't own the stamp and it's been discontinued... so I'm left with having to hand draw it when I want it... Also love the lace background stamp by Harmonie and the button border and pin cushion from Flourishes, all are discontinued... sigh.

The little yellow flowers were made at one of my recent quilling sessions. I'm using one of my newest lace dies from Joanna Sheen - love them.

I've been itching to make a scenic card using Designs By Ryn Sea Creatures 1 & 2 stamp sets. Then I came across a clear window card - and I haven't made one of those in eons... so now I have again. BIG GRIN

I sandwiched a lot of the elements between 2 sheets of Graffix clear plastic. I don't think I've done that before. Love the results.

MC Mar/16 - Easel Tim's BFly - ECD Believe - If You Don't - HB

When die cutting the Flourish Emblem the other day, I came across the other die I had bought at the same time eons ago and haven't used... It's a hard one for me to use. It so beautiful, but I hate covering any part of it up... But I have to add all my other elements. Sigh!! I kind of solved my dilemma by using Tim's humongous BFly die. Love the soft colors which is also rare for me - but really happy with the way it turned out. BIG GRIN

MCFeb/16 - Celtic - Lucky - Clover - May the Wings

 So we're getting close to St Patrick's and Suzanne Cannon from Quietfire Design came out with a couple of Celtic/StPatrick day Silhouette designs. "St Patrick's Day Card in a Box" & "Celtic Knotwork Card" I combined elements from both files...

Side folded my white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Sponged some Distress "Shabby Shutters" around the edges. Sponged "Lucky Clover" through a stencil (Crafters Workshop "Mini Microbial").

eCut the word "Lucky Clover" and the "Shamrock" from white cardstock, inked with the greens and clear embossed. Adhered to card front.

eCut the "Celtic Knotwork" and used it as a stencil on another card and since it had such nice green tones I decided to use it on this card... Applied a piece of Sookwang tape to the back and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Peridot". Adhered the knotwork piece to the card front.

Added some green/silver Sari ribbon and tied a bow. Final touch added some green half pearls

On the inside: stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "Butterfly Circle - May the Wings..." 5pce set) using "Crushed Olive" all over and then here and there with "Forest Moss", huffed and stamped, then clear embossed.

Inked the butterflies ("Butterflies/Dragonflies" 7pce set) using Distress minis all over with the olive, then on the outside of the wings"Cracked Pistachio" and streaked the wings with "Lucky Clover", and the body with "Frayed Burlap".
