Last Journal

I finished my spreads in Anne A's journal and it's the last one I have to work in. This was a wonderful year and I enjoyed working in everyone's journals. Maybe we'll do it again one day...

I incorporated what I learned last weekend in Georgia's classes. I tried gilding on Stonehenge and that is not easy. Lesson learnt. But as the quote on that page says "I will not quit" I persevered and finally got it done. I'm happy with it all. I have to make a large envelope now for it, so have patience Anne. I'll probably stuff your October ATC's in the same envelope. Click on pic to see the other pages and descriptions etc.

Donna's Journal

Another month has gone by and another journal spread is done. This one's Donna's and she choose "seeds" as her theme. I did an over sized flower paper casting which I cut in half and glued to each side of the spread. Wrote the quote with Ecoline inks. Click on image for details etc.

Spread in Sandra's Journal

Decided to work on Sandra's journal today. Did a ChartPak transfer of a mirrored building I photographed many years ago. Her theme was architecture. I'm happy with the results and the quote I chose. click on image for more details and other pics.

Fran's Journal Spread

Another Journal spread is done. This one is Fran's. I used my Dragonfly for one of the pages, very similar to the ones I recently used on a mingle page and for my Stampede entry. Can you tell I really love that piece. Everyone seems to love the bamboo one more. For me it's the dragonfly; and created some really nice paper background for the other page with the quotes and my sign in page.

JRR Vera's Journal

Vera's journal has a title "Butterflies are Free". I love butterflies, but must admit I was a little stumped as to which direction to go in and make it really special. Then I veered off on a tangent and was thinking along the fairy line. And this emerged. I'm content. A little dissappointed with the calligraphy, which if you go to my main web site, you'll see the reason why. C'est la vie.

JRR Kathie's Journal

Kathie's journal has a theme of Women's Wisdom. She also had glassine pages in between some of her pages and my spread fell with one of these glassine pages between them. What to do... We were allowed to cut it up, cover it or do whatever. I decided to make oval windows with frames and make it an integral part of my spread. JRR two more spreads

I finished two more spreads in our Journal Round Robin. Anne T's "Friends" which is the one I was scheduled to work in this month, and Lynda's journal "Opposites". I figured since one of the participants was away for the whole of the month, why let the journal stand idle, so I took it to work on too. It will just have a slight diversion in it's travels... Enjoy

I am now ready to start the packing for my 4 day class this weekend (well I guess more than the weekend since it continues on Monday and Tuesday). I think I'm going to be zonked. Luckily a friend will be picking me up on Saturday to take me to class, because my knee/leg is still giving me problems. I can basically walk on it, but am now still having problems when I carry anything too heavy. You should see the bag of art supplies I schlepp with me to class. I just can't seem to only take a couple things. You never know what you (I mean me) might need...

JRR - Lorraine's Journal

I received Lorraine's journal at our Guild meeting in January and it's the first spread of our Journal Round Robin I started in December 2007. And it's finished!! Definitely not a topic that I was too keen about when I first heard the word "Repurposing". But I am so glad she chose that theme. It stretched me and I love the results. I will be making a slightly larger piece for our upcoming Guild Galleria. I will get a color copy of the beaded circle at Staples and then do the calligraphy.

Journal RR 08 Mushrooms & Frog pages

I finished these pages a while ago, just never got around to uploading them. I finally was doing all the odds and sods today. So here they are. A mushroom page and my frog spread. I have to make the envie and it will be in the mail at some point this week on it's year long journey... Looking forward to seeing what everyone will put in to it.

Yogi's Journal Round Robin 2008

Well I uploaded my Journal I'll be using for my Round Robin 2008 to my website with explanations and detail pics of some of the pages. We're 10 people, which I think is a perfect size and if everyone keeps to the schedule, we'll be finished by xmas of 2008. Keeping my fingers crossed. Every month I will be posting what I have done in someone else's journal. Enjoy the journey with me.
