June19 - ATCAD2019 - Triptych Make a wish

I raided my stash of decorated papers that have been languishing in the drawer for probably 8 years... Every once in a while I check it, but it stays the same... What better use of them than for ATC's. Finally there are a few less in the drawer.

I'm using a bunch of dies "Make A Wish", from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design  "HERE"

I'm also using a clear stamp set "Happy Birthday Collection" from Quietfire Design also available on Elizabeth Craft Designs HERE
This 3 page ATC folds up into a regular sized ATC, but I needed something big for my "Make A Wish" die cut. BIG GRIN.

The background paper was done on watercolor paper, colored with some form of water coloring and then Saran Wrap scrunched up on dampness and left to dry. The result is hard cut edges that look like glass chips.

I had a leftover piece of the geometric scrapbook paper so added it to the front. Stamped the "Celebrate" and balloons using Versafine Clair "Twilight" and clear embossed. Colored the balloons with Prisma colored pencils.

On the inside Die cut the "Make a Wish" from black cardstock and cut a shadow layer from white. Adhered both together then to inside.

I had some alcohol star drop out pieces from another die cut. so added some of them.

MC Jan/16 - Alpha Bkgr'd - Letters Mingle Souls - A Word Lovingly Written

http://www.quietfiredesign.ca/I-Write-you-Letters-Design-Elements.htmlWhat do you do with all the negative die cut pieces??? I usually throw mine away or keep them as stencils because they're usually cut from white cardstock, but every once in a while there are some that speak to me and are too pretty to throw away... BIG GRIN This is the case with the alphabet negative die cuts (Elizabeth Craft Designs "Alphabet 1 - Caps" set). I've been cutting quite a few of them from some really beautiful color burst watercolor decorated papers with Schminke gold powder and Kosher coarse salt technique..

http://www.quietfiredesign.ca/I-Write-you-Letters-Design-Elements.htmlI'm also using a couple stamp quotes ("Letters Mingle Souls") & ("A Word Lovingly Written...") from Quietfire Design and an element stamp set for the inkwell ("I Write You Letters - Design Elements" 5pce set)

MC Dec/15 - Quill - ECD Happy Birthday - Just For You

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCDec15_Quill_ECDHappyBirthday_JustForYou.html
Thought I was using one of the newest Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and realized as I was writing my blurb it was the earlier released die. Sheesh. Back to the drawing board...

But I am really happy with the results. I'm using a bunch of scraps and stuff from my bins. Loving the curvy leaf background which was the negative of the leaves done on Color Burst decorated watercolor paper and looked so pretty when I was finished with it I didn't have the heart to throw it away. Also using a bunch of quilled elements from previous sessions. And I had opened one of my ribbon drawers and there was that little piece of webbed ribbon ...

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCDec15_Quill_ECDHappyBirthday_JustForYou.htmlAnd the "Happy Birthday" is a top and bottom off the edge die cutting technique explained on my website. Yes you could die cut the word and just glue the edges to a couple borders... There is always more than one way to do things...

Anyway, just click on any card image to see all the details and descriptions and lots more views.

MC Dec/13 - Mixed Media cards (Tissue & Feathers) (Gesso Honeycomb)

http://www.yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2013/MCDec13_MMTissue&Feathers_HB.htmlI definitely have been in a mixed media frame of mind lately...  Don't know where that's coming from... but definitely liking the results.

Both these cards started out as a result of finding stuff while starting the clean up in my spill over rooms... I threw a lot away too BIG GRIN...

The card at left I made for one of my uncles. So hard to come up with male oriented designs that aren't sports related or having to do with ties etc...

Love the background made with an old piece of Kleenex tissue. Love Tim's feather dies, and got to use some more of my scraps.

The card below started out with a honeycomb stencil I had cut out for some other project eons ago. I just kept adding layers and layers. Love the warm colors I used. Need that with our winter weather. I feel like we're over the hump and Spring is around the corner... I know wishful thinking...

MC Nov/13 - CAS - Snowflakes are Butterflies

I mentioned yesterday I was getting samples made for a class I'll be teaching in a couple weeks. I had die cut a bunch of Tim's movers & shapers snowflakes using Sookwang tape on cardstock to glitter them. When I was removing the release paper, I realized I had enough of them to make a background piece... This is the result of that thought.

I side folded my 4.25"w x 5.5"h white card. Lay a piece of 2.5"w Sookwang tape down the left side. stuck my snowflake release papers down and sprinkled with a couple colors of glitter (Ritz micro fine glitter "Peacock Blue" and a blue from a Sprinkler's glitter set). Burnished well then removed the release paper snowflakes. Sprinkled with Distress "Star Dust" glitter. Added Liquid Pearls "Platinum" dots to the snowflake centers.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Black Onyx. Trimmed it down, outlined the edges with the bullet tip of a blue Zig Writer, adhered to card.

Voila.

Click on image to enlarge. Enjoy.

MC Nov/13 - 4 Drawer Keepsake - In Creating

http://www.yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2013/MCNov13_4DrawerKeepsake_InCreating.html
I came across a similar structure on Pinterest - but of course can't find it now... Sigh!! Anyway it was in the back of my mind lately and I really wanted to make one. So a couple days ago I started by making the drawers. Then I made the covers for each drawer, adhered the floor of the easel and then was stuck in which direction to go in...
Today I finally decided. I was in a sewing/vintage type mood and wanted to use my newest rubber stamp acquisitions the Ornate Leaves and the Black Lace both by Designs by Ryn (Canadian stamps).
http://www.yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2013/MCNov13_4DrawerKeepsake_InCreating.html

I thought this would make a great gift for a special friend. Each of the drawers contain some of the elements I used on the card.

I'm also using a couple quote stamps from Quietfire Design

And to see more details and descriptions, just click on card image and enjoy.

It also fits for these challenges:

MC Feb/12 - Not a Bowl of Cherries

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a tendency to pull out a sheet (8.5 x 11") of cardstock and cut off a piece I need, or when making a card, trim off the excess, and all these pieces land in boxes and drawers to use at a later time - when that later time will be - who knows. So I now have piles of stashes of every kind of cardstock and paper and I'm going BONKERS... So I have consciously challenged myself to only use my scraps to create my cards. I'm giving myself till the end of March (of this year... BIG GRIN), to see how far I get into my stash. The only exception would be for my main card base, and that I'll allow myself to use a new piece of cardstock. But even there I'm really going to try to only use all my pre-folded cards I've bought over the years. So all that being said, this is my first card using my challenge and I even used a pre-folded card base this time. YES!!

I'm very happy with the results. I think its a good encouragement card. Love those cherries - a Flourishes stamp. And surprisingly enough I'm not using one of Quietfire Designs stamps this time - that's a rarity.

Anyway, click on card image to see more details and descriptions. Enjoy
