3 Page Geli Print Card

Size: 5"w x 6.75"h
One of our Crafty Dozen gals made a card like this and brought it in to show us. She'll be showing some of the gals at the next Wed get together which I won't be at. I only go to P&I for the past while... So thought I'd give it a try on my own. I love the results but left it without words since I have no idea whom to give it to...
It almost reminds me of a baby card...

I used Value Pack blue and some pale pink cardstock and my geli print paper.
The card base is folded with approx 1/2 gutter in the middle for the middle page to fit in and have room for the embellies.
Rounded the corners. Added the pockets for the bookmarks to each page.
Raided my boxes of pre-die cut or electronically cut butterflies and flowers etc. When everything was glued down... I added some mini rhinestones or butterflies made from woven threads.

Art Of The Fold - Spinner Card - From Me To You

size closed: 5.5"sq
The challenge for our next Art Of The Fold Group (Jan 2026) has us making a spinner card and this is my 2nd card...  couldn't resist trying to make one that didn't catch when opening the card and since Valentine's is around the corner... figured hearts was appropriate.
Again I used scraps for the card. Basic white card base, then I glued the red paper to the card base.
I used various punches and dies and did a bit of gold painting on the Spellbinder dies using US ArtQuest Mica Color Metallic set.

I LOVE doing "Shadow Lettering" and did that on this card using both a ZIG Writer or a Gelly Roll white gel pen.

Art Of The Fold - Spinner Card -My Wish To You

size closed: 5.5"sq
The challenge for our next Art Of The Fold Group (Jan 2026) has us making a spinner card. I like the idea of it but not so much the construction. Will have to mull it over for a while... And on my theme of trying to use things up it was made completely from scraps except the base which is basic white cardstock.

I raided my geli print scraps, mainly cut of ends from other projects... and glued them to the white cardbase. I like the results...
Die cut circles the appropriate size. Folded the mechanism and glued to the inside, then glued the circles onto it.
Link Spinner Card base Instr HERE
Raided my florals/leaves and BFly stash and adhered them making sure everything rotated properly without sticking... Added rhinestone gems to flower centers.
Used Shadow lettering style for the words.

Double Flap Card - Center Floral Stem

Size card closed: 4.25"sq
opens to: 9"w

I came across this cute card structure on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/DMNkDoJs9n_/) uploaded on July 17,2025 by aveereneecarddesigns called a slim line card. Couldn't resist making one...

Cut 110# cardstock to 4.25" x 9"w
Scored at 2", 2.25", 4.125", 4.625", 6.125" & 6.875"
Fold scores: v,v,m,m,v,v

I adhered geli print scraps from my stash... raided my die cuts to create the floral branch adhering only to that 1/2"w section. added amber gems to the floral centers.

Be careful when opening the card... Have both sides folded back to open the flaps to not damage the protruding florals...

Text will be added when I know what it will be used for...

Circle Booklet - Hllarious Crooked Puns

A friend sends me funny sayings and things and this time it was hilarious crooked puns and then another friend had just made a circle booklet and I thought it would be perfect for these puns. It's so good to have friends that inspire me...
The last time I made one of these structures was in Oct 2023.
size: 4"sq x 1/2" thk
This time I used 2 scalloped circle dies from Spellbinders cutting white cardstock (16 large scalloped circles and 14 inner decorative circles..) Cover done in funky lettering and Prisma Colored Pencils. Wrote in my Pun text using a ZIG Writer. Colored each circle's dots with a rainbow color and then clear embossed them (I've been in a rainbow mood lately,,,)
Since there are so many circles I thought I'd make a box for them. Added Sari ribbon to hold it closed since the top comes off and a title on a scalloped circle.

Art Of The Fold - Hexagon Alphabet Booklet

Our May (Art of the Fold) challenge is to create a Hexagon Booklet  that Mary Conley gave us the instructions for. This one was done from an 8.5" x 9" piece of Bogus Recycled Sketch Paper. that was laying around...

Size closed: 2"sq
I used a hexagon punch to make a master piece and then traced around it to get all my hex's down on my Bogus paper. Cut my slits and around the perimeter  and inked a border using a Zig Writer.. I then created a smaller hex template for my geli print paper from more scraps... at around 1.25"w x 1.5"h. Adhered them to the larger hexagons.
I had these black die cut letters (Tim Holtz /Alterations/Vintage Market/Sizzlets Decorative Strip) from another project so decided to use them... Edged them with a gold Krylon pen.

Scribbled Lives 2024 Bound

I'm early getting this year's Scribbled Lives bound... 38 pages plus covers. It's called Australian Piano Hinge you can find the instructions HERE

Size: 11"w x 8.5" h x 1.25" thk

I adhere two 8.5 x 11" pieces of cream 110# cardstock together to create a 4 page spread and did that 10 times adhering the spine area with another piece of the cream cardstock 1"w to have 1/2"gued to each piece of cardstock. Scored and folded. Cut 2 slits - 1.5" up from the bottom and cut a 1.5" slit. Repeated from the top edge.

Cut a piece of the cream cardstock 1.5"w by the length of the paper and started an accordion 1" fold. Adhere more cardstock to the end until I got the length I need for all my folds. Cut the red textured cardstock 1"w x 8.5"long.

Inserted the both folded accordion strips into the slots of the 1st folded page and slipped the red cardstock piece through the accordions. Repeated till all pages were attached.

Covers are a dark green mat board. I adhered a piece of the red textured cardstock as a decorative element and also to hide the ends of the spine accordion while holing the book to the covers.

Die cut the big letters using Tim Holtz "Word Play" Bigz die from one of my geli prints. Adhered them "topzy turvy" and shadowed with a white Uniball gel pen.

Size: 9"w x 8"h
I penciled in  my text circle area on white Canson Mixed Media paper wrote out the text with a Uniball Black gel pen. then adhered my art background to it, then adhered all to a white cardstock.

I REALLY like the end result.

Drum Leaf Binding - Words To Live By

I came across this DRUM LEAF binding on Vintage Page Designs Facebook Nov 4/24 post and decided to play with it…click HERE  for the post

Cut my 5pcs of white Stonehenge paper to 5"h x 10" w and one larger one for the covers. Sprayed with various colors of Distress Spritz (Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron and Walnut Stain). Sprinkled with Coarse salt and then sprayed with water. Let it dry completely.

Fold the pages in half and  the back side of one folded piece to the back side of the next folded piece until all were attached to each other. Used binder clips to hold the pages together and applied glue to the spine - let dry. Adhered the cover to the first page creased for my spine and then adhere the rest to the back page. Adhered the belt to the front adding a piece to slip my end into for closure. Added one of my wax seals as decoration.

Die cut the large letters using Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations "Vintage Market" alphabet from pink cardstock. Rest of the text was done with a Zebra pointed pen nib in Bookhand style using Holbien Jet Black gouache.

Art Of The Fold - Circle Flag Book - Dragonfly Floral

Our challenge for our  November 12th meeting is to create a Flag Book. Then one of our members created a circle one. She gave us a diagram with 32folds which I tried but couldn't get my sections folded equally and got frustrated... So a few days later, mulled it over and decided to try one with less folds and this is the result. I like it but it doesn't have the same interaction I get with the original folding.

Size open: 9"dia including letters

Since we're continuing with our goal to use what we have... I raided my off cut papers... and geli print stuff I made. so this one is made of all scraps.

I cut my circle to 7"dia from heavy weight copy paper, folded in half both ways to get a 90º fold, then measured from 1 point  to the next quarter point and divided that into 4 sections and scored through the center point, repeating until all sections were divided. Creased the fold lines. It doesn't show in the image but the sections are slightly raised.

Created the black cut into a partial circle and adhered the 8 sections to every other folded section.

Die cut the letters Sizzix Alterations Bigz XL Word Play Alphabet from a piece of white cardstock I had sprayed with Distress Spritz (Peacock Blue, Worn Lipstick, Weathered Wood & Fossilized Amber), love the shimmer. Final touch added a small punched out heart between the words.

All the other items were cut with various size punches from geli print papers. I added a 3D pearl sticker to each floral center and glitter to the dragonfly wings..

ECS Envelope Exchange Oct 2024 - Arlene Bowles

Arlene Bowles (Oct 2024)
Env: Created the env on Edge Mixed Media Sketchbook paper. I love this Blue Rider Typeface that I discovered a while back for your name on the envie and quote on the card front. Colored with Posca colored pencils. I'm using Tutti Designs Leaves Background "Tutti 388" die from white cardstock then colored with various Distress pads in yellow, red and green. Cut them apart to border the envie.

I've been playing with my wax seals again (it's been years since I used them last...) so had to add one to your card front.

Flag Book - Autumn Leaves

Our challenge for our  "Art Of The Fold" November 11th meeting is to create a Flag Book.
I made one from Hedi Kyle's "Art Of The Fold" book in February 2021. So had to make one with a different technique...
Since we're continuing with our goal to use what we have... I raided my off cut orangey & brownish papers... and a piece of a geli print I made.
I cut my accordion 6"h x 12"w from 12 x 12 scrapbook cardstock and folded in 1" increments. I sandwiched the 2 end pieces between the covers cut from the same cardstock and a piece of Elephant Hide paper for added strength.
Cut the inside tabs from scraps in brown and an olive green cardstock scraps. Cut the leaves from one of my geli print papers using Sizzix  BIGZ "Tattered Leaves" die.
Wrote the quote using a Juice Up pen in Blue Rider Typeface style.

Accordion - Removable Spine - The Garden We Grew

I found this structure done by Kit Davey (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mofba1elvwU&t=427s)
Created the text on I believe copy paper that I had pre-cut eons ago... so thought I'd use it.
Wrote out the text using a Zebra pointed nib and Sumi ink in "Bullet Rider Typeface" style and trimmed down to 5"w x 4"h.
Cut several strips of this orangey colored Mi-Tientes paper to created the accordion giving me a border of 1/4" all around the text piece.
Created the covers using some of my gelli print paper (front and back of gelli print) around some white cardstock, then slipped the ends of the accordion into the cover and held everything closed with the spine insert (the whole thing is removable if desired).

Title on cover put into a Spellbinders "Fancy Tags Two" die. Sponged over with some Distress "Marmalade".

Silver Years Booklet

A friend sent me a bunch of old timer style sayings and I was in a mood to create a booklet with them...

I recently got a 12 x 14 geli plate... no more seams down the middle of my pages... and since I was making something for a commission I decided to make a bunch more pages.

It's 3 signatures of 2 folios with a total of 24 pages.

Another friend had just given me some wonderful 80# paper that had a slight glossy feel to it and I love writing on it... sorry don't know the exact name of it... Text written with a Nikko G nib and Sumi ink in my style of script writing...When cut I edged it with a blue Zig calligraphy 2.0 nib then adhered it to my geli plate pages.

I found the tutorial (Sea Lemon) for the binding (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUmioC9-_5g)

I die cut the scalloped ovals (Spellbinder's) from white 80# paper and a larger one from core'dinations "Elements" assortment. Adhered to covers only on a 1/4" of the right and left edges so the band could slip under the ovals to hold the booklet closed.

Love the title done in a funky style using a pointed nib and Sumi ink.

Art Of The Fold - Tunnel Book - Merry Christmas

Our December project was to make a tunnel book. Haven't made one of those in several years... and since we're in December... thought I'd make it an Xmas themed one.

I used a heavy weight white cardstock (unknown brand probably 140#) for the pages. Dry embossed the cover and hit the high points with a red Distress pad.(I forget it expands the paper a bit so my first page warped a little - sigh!!)

The back page was stamped with a winter house scene and the area around the stamping colored with Distress Oxide pad Broken China.

I pulled out a pile of wintry and tree dies and cut from Staples white 110# cardstock. Colored with Distress pads. Added some glitter to the snowflakes and glossy accents to the red berries.

Well if nothing else I've finally used some of my embossing folder/stamp and dies which I haven't used in many years...

3D Star Structure - Greens

I came across a class by Cherryl Moote and she had an interesting image... so I thought I'd see if I could make something similar.

Used Staples 110# white cardstock. Cut my star with the largest of a Spellbinder's Star die set (approx 3.75"). Doodled with a green Zig Writer.

Cut my stand pieces 3"w x 2"h, folded in half and cut a slit approx 1" deep from the fold to toward the outside edge. Cut pieces of one of my green design geli papers and adhered to each leg.
