This did not turn out anything like what was taught... I started the right way but lost control. BIG GRIN. so improvised. I couldn't find my good blower so used Tim's hand pump thingie...
On Grafix Opaque White Craft Plastic dropped a color blob and air blew, adding Alcohol Blending Solution. Didn't give me the results I expected, but I kind of like the abstractness of it. Used a gold gel pen for the center doodles. Added the text with a Sharpie pen.

Scribbled Lives 2021 - Wk 21 - Color - Alcohol Poppies. I recently purchased a new brand of alcohol inks by T-Rex. Really nice inks. The only thing I don't like about them is the name of the ink is on the cap, so when you remove it from the bottle, there is no way of knowing if you're putting it back on the right bottle. Sigh. So I wrote all the names on some paper and stuck them on the backs of each bottle... Now I'm content.

ECS - Rainbow - Flag Booklet

I'm doing this project for 2 challenges...one for the Edmonton Calligraphy Society where the challenge for March was anything "Rainbow", and also for our Art Of The Fold Facebook group for April 6th meeting. We decided to do more flag books for our next meeting or/and plus anything you'd like to do...

I'm really pleased with the outcome of this flag booklet. All my pages finally lay flat when stretched out so everything can be read.

I'm also using some of my cherished Ruche (very heavy/thk) paper which I bought when Scrapbooker's Paradise was around... for the decorative elements. And for the main "rainbow" word I inked a Copic extra wide modified nib with 3 colors of alcohol ink.

More Alcohol Ink- Scenic and Yellow Flowers. and a couple more bite the dust...

After doing that purple colored flower I thought I'd try something like a yellow daisy, but got side tracked... next time.

The scenic one was really ugly except for the sky, so just wiped the bottom section away. Pouf gone... Love it now. Used a palette knife for the rocky areas.

Alcohol Inks - Dream, Knowledge, Flowers

So in between creating the mini books, I sometimes need to clear my head and relax... so I created a few more alcohol ink pieces. I'm pleased. That flower has so much potential. Need to play with that technique. And I love the ghostly dots in the "Dream" piece, and I love the gold feathering in the "Knowledge" piece.

Alcohol Inks - Escape Reality

I took a free alcohol ZOOM class with Sherry Telle this past Sunday and enjoyed it thoroughly. She recommends using Copic refils in the strongest colors. You can always dilute the color but you can't increase the intensity from a weaker color...

I LOVE the way this one turned out. Anxious to do more experimenting but have some other commitments I need to get at. sigh!!

Tim Holtz - Alcohol Ink - Thanks cards

This didn't turn out anything like Tim demo'd... of course I didn't have 91% rubbing alcohol, I didn't feel like using my Yupo, my Lifting off technique just didn't work, but the re-stamping turned out great. It just wasn't my day today but I'm content with the results I did get...

BVCG Dec Lettering Challenge - Day 9 & 10

 

Thought I'd do some pencil work... I was watching a video using the various grades of pencils to get thick's and thin's. The thought is so basic I had to play a bit... Although i can't say this is my best work, I will experiment again at a later date. PS don't mind the spelling goof. It wouldn't be my work if there isn't one somewhere...

The "Joy" word was a fun time with alcohol inks... I have to play with that some more eventually.

Oct/19 - PoinsettiaDie Cut - Peace - The Magic Of Christmas

As I mentioned before, I've been making a lot of stuff for cards both at my gals get togethers and while playing...and that's where they ended and in my "one day" pile of stuff. Well I sat down the other day and finished a whole pile of them. This one uses one of my newer poinsettia dies.

I'm using a die "Peace" from Elizabeth Craft Designs also available from Quietfire Design.

Sept/19 - Accordion Booklet - ECD Happy Birthday My Friend - You Can Never

This is a card I saw on Quietfire Design "Letters Live" video last Thursday given by Kathy Jo. I loved the way the pages were attached. Something new for me. You can see Kathy Jo's Quietfire Letters Live video HERE and I just noticed there is a class at The Paper & Ink Boutique here in Calgary that has this card as a mini class on Sept11th.

 I'm using a few dies "Calligraphic Elements 3" 11pce set, "Butterfly Flourish" 3pce set, "Happy Birthday Small", "My Garden Flowers" 3pce set and "Friends" from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design "Calligraphic Elements 3", "Butterfly Flourish", "Happy Birthday Small", "My Garden Flowers" and "Friends"     

And I'm using a bunch of quote rubber stamps from Quietfire Design ("You Can Never Have..."); ("I Shut My Eyes..."); ("Don't Let Yesterday..."); ("Fill Your Paper..."); ("Let The Beauty of..."); ("The Secret Of Genius..."); ("Create Without Limits").
