Floral Center Circles - Abstraction

size: 4.5"w x 6"h
On Canson Mixed Media paper drew the circles with my Orbis Circle Scissor with a Sanford NoBlot Ink pencil (love the blue it turns in to when wet). Wet each circle line slightly and some completely... Added a deeper blue w/c for behind the flower. Text written with a dark blue Juice Up pen. Added some exterior lines.
words: Almost without exception, blue refers to the domain of abstraction and immateriality. Wassily Kandinsky

Circle Border - Silence Of Thought

I was playing with this circle border...
size: 5.5"sq
On Canson Mixed Media paper drew out several sized circles and spaced diagonal lines through the center to create this design... and even with that I still got some sections a little wonky...colored with Prisma colored pencils, then added the gem in the center.
Words written with a pink toned metallic gel pen and then shadowed with a black Juice Up pen.
words: Painting is the silence of thought and the music of sight. Orhan Pamuk

Wes Wilson - If It's Not Your

This was our final day and while Amity was demoing... I was creating...

size: 5"sq
On Bee Super Deluxe paper drew my circle and painted inside with 3 waves of color blending where they overlapped. Then painted around the circle with Winsor Blue (red). Drew my Wes Wilson inner text in a spiral layout and painted the negative areas with a ZIG Writer and Sharpie... Wrote the outer text with a pointed nib and Bleed Proof white ink.
Since this style is hard to read for many people, I wrote it in monoline around the circle... I shortened the quote by not using the words "if it' in the 3rd sentence and "if you"in the last sentence.

words: If it's not yours, don't take it. If it's not right, don't do it. Not true, don't say it. Don't know, shut up. Japanese wisdom

Circle Art - Sarcasm

After Rachel Yallop's class this weekend, I've been playing with circles again... This time I wanted to do sarcasm. This piece is I think my 5th version trying to get a smooth transition for the longer saying (the one in red). I'm still not perfectly happy. Don't like the close ending of the black words... I might try it one more time in the future... Ha Ha

Scribbled Lives 2022 - Wk 41 - Folk Music - Blowin In The Wind

I've always loved this song... so it was the first thought in my head... not that my head holds a lot... and I haven't done anything in a circle in quite a while... this one isn't a spiral but just circles upon circles. A little different from my "usual".

Scribbled Lives 2022 - April - Wk 15 - Dazzle Of Day - Enough now of the Wet Eyes

Scribbled Lives 2022 - April - Wk 15 - Dazzle Of Day - Enough now of the Wet Eyes.

Since I'm continuing with practicing my Italic... that's the hand I chose to write the quote and since I just took a class with Tamer Ghoniem "Circles On Steroids" hosted by BVCG, I decided to do this portion of the poem in circles... I extremely pleased with the way it turned out and I think my Italic is really improving...
