MC July/12 - Quill Pine - Tidings

I made this quilled pine a few days ago and the embossed image (Cuttlebug "Heritage" set) last week and finally got around to making a card with the elements...

I made a side folded 5.5" x 4.25"h card. Sponged Distress Pine Needles around the edges and adhered my cream toned embossed design.

I created a hilly cardstock mask and sponged Distress Tumbled Glass along the edges to mimic snowy hills. Inked up a pine tree (Impression Obsession "Winter Trees" set) and using the mask, stamped a portion of the trees in the various locations using a mix of Versafine Olympia Green and Vintage Sepia.

Scanned a die cut of Tim's Reindeer and cut with my electronic cutter - it's under an 1"h, sponged some brown and added an eye. Added the birds in the sky with a Micron pen.

Stamped the sentiment/quote (Quietfire Design) - Tidings on the outside and the rest on the inside. Adhered my quilled tree.

The inside uses the same mask for the snowy hills, the same pine tree image and a reverse cut of the reindeer.

And it fits for these challenges:

This is such a wonderful card! A rather clean layout, but lots of work and love behind this one, I'm sure. It really gives me that good kind of Christmas feel ... Even in July!
