MC Sept/13 - OLW - CAS - HB My Friend

Another night where something gets created in my half awakeness...

I side folded a white cardstock to 4.25"w x 5"h. Made a diffuser out of mat board to have a 1" border all around and an opening of 2.25"w x 3"h. Used the Spellbinders Numbers/Letters embossing folder, using the numbers side. Sandwiched my card front along the edge, closed the folder, lay my diffuser on top, matching up my card edges, and then made the rest of my sandwich to put through my machine. This embossed only the outside border, leaving the inside smooth for stamping.

Used my mini Scor-It board to emboss a straight line border inside the number's border.

Stamped my cake tiers (Flourishes "Let them eat cake") using Perfect Medium and clear embossed. (PS I stamped it again with some ink to cut a around the cake image) stencil

Created a stencil of the rectangular opening and sponged Distress "Gathered Twigs" lightly all over. Placed my cake stencil in place and sponged heavily with the Twigs sponge. Used a paper towel to remove excess ink from my embossing.

Stamped the Birthday sentiment (Quietfire Design "10 Tiny Sentiment" set) with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear embossed. Stamped the "My Friend" with the Sepia and embossed with Stampednous "Nutmeg" embossing powder.

As a final touch, stamped the candle (Flourishes) with the brown and clear embossed.
