Letters As Art - Lorraine Douglas - Day 1

I'm taking a 2 day class with Lorraine Douglas (a BVCG Guild Member from BC) creating art with letters.


Top: 6"w x 1.5"h 

Middle: 3"sq ea

Bottom: 4.5"w x 3"h
 

 

 

On Canson Pen & ink paper.

1st image:
The top piece: BRIM - the letters outlined with a Unibal Gold gel pen and painted with all the colors of blue in one of my palettes. (Holbien - Peacock Blue, W/N - Cobalt Blue, Manganese Blue & Winsor Blue (red), Grumbacher - Cobalt Blue)

The middle 2: OKRA, ACED - the one on the left with Derwent Inktense w/c pencils and Bleed Proof White.
The one on the right done with a Zig Writer and Derwent regular watercolor pencils.

The bottom one: PENCIL - all done with an Caran d'Ache HB pencil and added shading with paper stump.
